Your issue is probably that you're missing the port where the server is running (8080).
Just in case, the (untested) steps I would take to install a CA and a core server in the same machine are: 1. Get the install.sh script from the web ( http://opencast.jira.com/svn/MH/tags/1.1.0/docs/scripts/ubuntu_capture_agent/install.shfor the 1.1.0 release) 2. Run it as the root user 3. Choose the local URL when asked for the CA URL, and also for the default core server. 4. Once finished, choose *not* to reboot the computer 5. Go to /opt/matterhorn/capture-agent/matterhorn_source and run the command su <matterhorn_user> -c 'mvn install -DdeployTo=/opt/matterhorn/felix/matterhorn' 6.
