Hi Chris,

Thank you for your suggestion; I remember your similar answer with my same question regarding MH 1.0.

I took the "MH-1104-Status: Resolved. Resolution fixed and reviewed. Fix Version: 1.1" for granted, thinking that we could avoid buying additional expensive hardware (16 capture agents x $250=3500$ is pretty much for our little leftover budget).

The comments on http://opencast.jira.com/browse/MH-1104 also suggested that Uni Osnabrueck/Waldemar Smirnow provided some working patch.

Bad news MH 1.1 still does not support this. I guess my next step is to ask Uni Osnabrueck how they handle the situation.

Greetings, Andreas

Hi Andreas,

The capture agent doesn't have the capability to handle resolution
changes off of an epiphan vga2usb, and the card doesn't handle it
by itself. Instead you'll need to put a dscalar inline - there are a
couple of recommendations on the capture agent hardware wiki, they run
about $250-$350.

Chris

Hi,

I just installed the capture agent with install.sh from
http://opencast.jira.com/svn/MH/tags/1.1.10282/
and tested some captures via epiphan vga2usb LR with various
resolutions and sometimes without input.

Sadly the recordings all failed:
. some of them resulted in a filesize of 0 (possibly after unplugging
the vga-source)
. all of them showed the test-pattern as soon as resolution changes
took place

Since this functionality is critical to our further steps with MH,
I'd like to ask, if this should be fixed in this release/tag, as
stated in http://opencast.jira.com/browse/MH-1104 .

Thanks for any information, Andreas Krieger
