Hi Andreas, The capture agent doesn't have the capability to handle resolution changes off of an epiphan vga2usb, and the card doesn't handle it by itself. Instead you'll need to put a dscalar inline - there are a couple of recommendations on the capture agent hardware wiki, they run about $250-$350.
