I updated the ffmpeg version in trunk to 0.8.2 last week. This is currently in review. It works fine on Centos and Ubuntu, a colleague with a Mac had a small problem that we hopefully fixed now. So if you want give it a try, just use the third-party tools from trunk.

You might need to update your encoding profiles. The value for the -strict parameter was renamed from "inofficial" to "unofficial"

Good luck!

Hi all,

We doing some custom workflow work here to add Matterhorn-recorded material to our home-grown media space system. To take advantage of newer capabilities, we're using a newer version of ffmpeg that the one that is shipping with Matterhorn.

Is there any reason why the newer version of ffmpeg won't work, or will cause problems?

Please let us know your thoughts...

Thank you!
