My suspicion is that some of the muxers, and some of the containers, are more 
fault tolerant. The pipeline is absolutely being shutdown incorrectly 
everytime. Then, when the source gets run through ffmpeg again, any issues 
might be re-encoded out. This might explain the fluctuations of a couple 
seconds in length from the source material and the distributed video. If you 
were to try mp4mux you would have your inspections fail.
