Andreas Krieger commented on MH-8655:
-------------------------------------
Actual Results: corrupted recording as described above and by attached
screenshot
Expected Results: the recording to follow the resolution changes by rescaling
the resolutions correctly and thus provide consistent quality
Workaround (if any):
+ use a scaler (which has it's own limitation, like not delivering an output
signal if the input is running on 100Hz)
+ disconnect the source and reconnect it (but this would mean to know that this
is necessary, which is only possible via confence monitoring)
+ every workaround has it's own traps and requires additional instruction and
setup of the lectures and thus more fail-prone than an internal solution
We currently have quite a lot of recordings failing due to this reason, so a
solution to this would be highly welcome.
I have little to no idea of the internals, but what about identifying the
"offending" resolution changes, and then checking like every 5 seconds whether
such a resolution change (from which to what) happened, and then adapting the
scaling function accordingly during the recording?. Easy said, I know. Or what
about causing a software interrupt to the epiphan device every time a
resolution changes, thus causing a short signal loss, thus mitigating the
effect?
> Epiphan capture gets corrupted when the resolution of the presentation
> changes without disconnecting the signal
