Ruben, I think the stream EOSs when the resolution changes.  The kangaroo patch 
was an attempt to catch and suppress the EOS, and replace it with coloured bars 
and wait for a new stream.  The problem is that new stream has to be scaled, 
which the kangaroo patch did not do.

I think software would be much better, but I don't think this is an easy issue 
to solve.  For us it's been worth the cost for the scalars and we're putting 
dev time elsewhere.  Would of course be great to come back to.

Andreas: We use these scalers I think, they're about $300 each:

Just simple devices.  You can buy much fancier ones if you wanted to.  We've 
had no problems yet, but perhaps we haven't run into your situation either.
