We tested the scalar on http://www.ambery.com/pcvgatohddvi.html, and found that
if the frequency of 100Hz was sent by the presenter laptop the scaler would
just say "not supported" and show a black screen instead.
We found that the hard way, ie. some recordings with some proprietary laptops
(mostly macs) just failed, before we found the reason.
If you can point me to a scaler of about the same price which works reliably
I'd be happy; what are you using?
I understand that a software solution would be a big thing to mess with, and
require assumptions that decrease the overall quality of the recordings.
