Waldemar Smirnow commented on MH-8655:
--------------------------------------

Kangaroo patch have a gstreamer videoscale element build in the device
pipeline, BEFORE the stream pass the appsink element (see
EpiphanVGA2USBSubDeviceBin class) and also the consuming pipeline-part. The
resolution caps are set to that one at the beginning of capturing (or standatd
to 1024x768 if no device is connected at the beginning).

The older epiphan "driver" has thrown an EOS at resolution changes, so the
device pipeline was rebuild with the same resolution as the recording started
(scale down or up if not the same). The new epiphan modules does not (or
sometimes) throw an EOS, so gstreamer can not recognize an unplugged cable or
changed resolution and does not rebuild the pipeline.

My problem is to check the device resolution dynamicly while capturing. If you
find an solution please write me. With Ubuntu 12.04 release I will check, how
we can use the Epiphan SDK in CA or search an other workaround.

At the moment is the best way to use an hardware scaler.

> Epiphan capture gets corrupted when the resolution of the presentation
