ps, it is the lack of an mmu or pmmu that keeps most *nixes from working on earlier 
machines, apparently the *nixes want memory management in hardware.  it makes sense 
from what i remember about system V from 20 years ago when i last used it.  it likes 
to pretend whatever it's running starts at address 0 as i recall, or something like 
that.
