In these days of cross-platform libraries, sometime the error strings get
overlooked when porting from one platform to another.

I have a "WinSock Lib" file in my extensions folder, from Altura Software
(version 3.7). Some programmers would rather write a library (or license
one) for the Mac that supplies winsock APIs rather than alter their app
code specifically for the Mac.

I have no idea what program installed that extension.
