I have been trying for a few days to get SAPDB/MaxDB working under RedHat 9 to evaluate it for a large upcoming project.
The Installation seems to go well but I cannot get a real database to really start running. I've tried 7.505, 7.508 tgz's as well as 7.4 tgz and rpm. No luck, always the same symptoms.
Is this configuration know to work?
I've seen a number of postings here but none of the solutions seem to work for me. The most promising seemed to be the advice to set
export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5
before starting xserver but that did not correct my problems.
When trying to create a new instance through WEBDM, I get the familiar -24875 error.
When I try to install the SAPDB74 test database, I get the familiar DBSTATE "Caught signal 11(SIGSEGV)" error.
Has anyone managed to get a SAPDB instance running on RedHat 9? If so, I would very much appreciate some help here.
Many Thanks Jerry Apfelbaum Toronto
