Hi,

I set ld_assume_kernel but still have the same problem.

Ok this is what I did.

1) deleted all log files
2) set using : export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5
3) start x_server
4) using the database manager, try to bring up the instance.
5) kernel error issue.

I paste the file here

0x00006140 ERR -24994 DBM 1,Check knldiag! Kernel died before reaching ADMIN state

6) now, I cannot find the knldiag files. It is not in the <data directory>/wrk . In fact the instance does not have a subdirectory under there.

Do tell me what I did wrong.

Ivan

On RedHat 9 with MaxDB 7.5 I continued to receive the error below until
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5 was set.

At which point the problem went away.

The only issue i can imagine is still the NPTL which was introduced in
RedHat9. If LD_ASSUME_KERNEL doesn't work, a SAPDB-Version which was
compiled on RedHat9 could help.
Compiling SAPDB is still a very complicated thing as far as i know. So
you might try with the help of Daniel Dittmar or any other
SAPDB-Professional.
