No, by Google Groups I mean Google Groups. Google Groups is basically mailing lists, where anyone can browse, search, read messages, and anyone signed in to Google can send messages online. You can configure delivery to be bundled in digests, or delivered instantly, administrators can do things like mass subscriptions/invitations (require Google approval to prevent spamming), and so on. It's the best of both worlds - except that you can't create a dozen subforums to one group, that would be (I guess) different groups. Usenet is, basically, a relic of a past life now, and I don't even know if there is a usenet interface to newly created groups. > If you have a Google account you can use the > interface via Google Groups (but really, we cannot require to have a > Google account to be involved in MeeGo discussions). And that was what I means by "the whole Google thing".
