I would start that the kernel is different.

Android's Linux kernel has diverged from the main, Linus Linux kernel that
MeeGo is based.  And Android doesn't necessarily use the tip of the kernel
for development and product release either. So if you were going to do
work on say, power management, you need to go to Google's Android site and
pull their kernel.
