We're "stuck" with mcompositor for now, but many of these other items
are very aggressively being worked on in terms of removing them as

This is news to me. Is there a roadmap somewhere? And if someone
wanted to track this sort of thing (MTF, Handset UX, Tablet UX) --
where should he be hanging out?
we're currently scrambling a bit deciding on various pieces what to do
in the new situation; expect a more comprehensive email soon.
(all these pieces are connected so it's not easy to take one out)
