I have been already thinking of duicontrolpanel2 (maybe we can name it now properly mxxxx). It would most likely use Qt components for UI and C++ for the "backend". I have been thinking separation of the UI layer and "engine" so that there is some further flexibility in UI customization over the traditional applet approach where the UI is integral part of each applet. This is just on idea stage at the moment, nobody has started coding it yet. If somebody has by the way great ideas for it, feel free to contribute, I am listening!
