Right, we can argue for a while about this, but let's get down to business. The problem was that this change came out of the blue while 0.19 downgrade was actually discussed and announced on the mailing lists in December so it could be done without breaking anything. I don't recall seeing any bug registered with Bluetooth HFP back then (but feel free to prove me wrong). Needless to say that no-one should enter regressions that breaks any platform or vertical (not us N900 guys, not anyone from Intel or anyone else) - MeeGo Core has to work for everyone. The excuse that people have deadlines for the IVI and Handset side to break Core isn't valid as well, N900 team has deadlines too. MeeGo Core was announced to be frozen, too, so this PA upgrade was a bit surprising. We -really- need to have a release engineering team that is fully independent from company pressures - process should be valid for everyone or we'll miss release targets and vendors will be pissed at us for not being reliable to build products on as we can't even follow our own timelines and rules. Now, on to the technical part - we want to have working cellular audio on N900 for 1.2 too. Any objections for us to add the support for ALSA 'old sinks' to PulseAudio? Same patches were used in PA 0.9.21 for MeeGo 1.1 and didn't break things for any verticals, to my knowledge.
