There were a few quick 120y's floating around at that time. I dont
specifically remember George Fury in the Alpine ((Old Timers Disease?) but
I wouldn't mind betting it was either the Gerry Ball car or possibly Jamie
Drummonds car he was driving.
Greg Carr drove a Gerry Ball Tuning Service 120Y with FIA L20B? and four
link Alfa transaxle rear end that was very quick. The upper links for the
transaxle came inside the cabin and were mounted on the roll cage behind
the seats. Greg kept breaking the body apart on this car so it was
abandoned.
The Jamie Drummond 120Y had twin 55mm Solex's on an FJ24, was dry sumped,
Option 1 box, works H190 rear end, with four spots and ventilated's front
& back. This was one awesome beast. A sound that would warm your heart on a
cold winters night. Jamie set up and owns Shock Absorber Improvements in
Wodonga Vic. They build one of the worlds best rally suspension systems.
Jamie formerly worked for Bilstein when they started up in Australia.
