The module could be used for a paper weight.  I believe that it is not
something than can be repaired.  The lack of 'white paste' would have
contributed to the problem, however may not be the direct cause, possibly
just its age. You will still need to replace it with a new/second hand one.

yeah when i pulled the module off it had no paste at all so hopefully that
is the problem and i can get away with it without to much expense.
Thanks for the advice on wolf i will look into it.
