Nothing is wrong with Motec, budget/wife allows in my humble opinion it is
still the premium after market ECU available. The reason for my comments
regarding the Wolf System is its simplicity. Motec has an array of features
that you will probably never use, traction control, data logging, individual
cylinder tuning, boost cut, nitrous contol,50rpm load bands, auxiliary outs
etc. are all nice to have but in a street/race setup very rarely used.

Wolf 3d is easy to program, comes with base settings and a hand controller
to get you going, two data cartridges for race v's economy and you don't
need a laptop to run it. We have set some cars up on street with Wolf in an
afternoon. Now I am not saying it was perfect, we mapped up to 20psi both
fuel and spark sites the car went like a shower of shit and he still gets
28mpg economy.

I spent 30+ hours on a rolling road dyno, hooked upto various instruments,
but at the end of the day for the extra 30hp (estimate) you work out the
benefits as none of our cars will run at Bathurst so is that extra power
that important. To put it into perspective we gained an extra 5hp just by
increasing the spark plug gap which cost nothing.

The extra $1500 for the ECU plus hours of dyno time adds up quickly when
essentially their standard features for controlling fuel delivery and
ignition timing are the same whether or not its Motec, Haltech or Wolf.
