I went back to the wrecker yesterday to look at tailshaft options.. Checked
out that car I tore the sway bar off, and it was a 86 model skyline... But
there were a few pintaras there, I think an 89 model and it was the same
one... But mines off the 86 Skyline. I shall measure the diameter for you
when I find my calipers...
Yup, good fix for $35 I reckon..
Does anybody know of a place in Sydney who does cut & shut job on a
tailshaft. I couldn't find one at the wreckers that was short enuf. There
was a straight shaft which would have been ok not like the 3-piece one I
have, but it had spot-rust on the outstide and I remembered that cross
member that guy snapped on the weekend because of rust... and I said to
myself "Self, no way is this thing gunna take a pounding like I'm gunna give
it." I tend to think that I should take this part quite seriously, no BS...
:)
If yours is the s3, then yes the 200sx mounts will bolt up straight onto the
x-member and give you the right amount of slope the engine likes... I think
it's about 7-15 degrees on the rocker cover, down side to the passenger
side... the top of the rocker cover is almost lever with the crease on the
firewall and the bonnet clears it with ease.
What sort of tailshaft is on your wagon?
