Correct, no L18. They were only allowed to bore the 1600 out by 40thou. John
calculated that the motor was producing around 120 HP at the front which is
not much more than the standard SSS motor. The motor was pulled down and
measured but the officials could not find a problem. Possible modifications
were a bit vague and in the end they got shafted for a LSD. If they had run
a locked diff it would have been OK. What is done is done and the boys will
be back next year.
