Terry
would u believe 1600 with hitachis
The technicality i believe was the diff (LSD?) and the fact that it was a 30
year old car that wooped the pants off all the glamour late model big $$$
cars.. Now we can't have that could we..
I believe that John is building a bigger (faster) engine for it next year
and going up a category.. Lets hope he really whips them...
The rain did help him a bit cos he reckons he was a bit underpowered in the
drier conditions and really competitive in the wet..
As an aside, John Siddins is a very very good driver and punts a 240Z around
super successfully at other times. He was the fastest 'non open wheeler' at
Leyburn last week and 4th fastest overall!!!
And he's a nice guy as well!!
As for what CAMS would be fooled about.... just about everything I reckon.
Different interpretations in each state, lack of proper inspections, blind
eye turned to blatant cheating etc etc etc.. Historics are nearly dead in
its current form and as far as I am concerned a complete joke.. except not
very funny for the poor bastards who spent lots of money to try and comply
'legally' and now don't really have a category to 'race' in..
just my 2cents ( + 34 cents for the gst price rises) worth
cheers
Mick
