Pete,
Run a restrictor in the return line to the tank and a good Hi Flow LP
supply pump. There is no reason you would have a problem on the hottest day
with this setup.
Cheers

My two cents worth!
I have run the line back to the Surge tank, as I think it's best to keep
the
Surge tank full at all times, an example of this is a recent meeting at
Winton
on a hot day. Coming into turn one and two, I started to get what seemed to
be
fuel surge, which was caused by the heat factor, if I didn't run the line
back
to the surge tank then I would of run out.
I would not rely on the primary pump even on the street, as you say he is
probably going to give it a caning.
