Ben,

OK, as I see it if you wish to stay with this engineer the indications are
he will not pass you with your current brakes. You'd better sort this out
with him and find out what exactly he does require before you spend your
money. Does he know exactly what the Japanese models with the Z18t came out
with? You now know, but does he and does he have the resources that you have
to find out?

Either you've got some more work to do or change engineer and whether or not
this is an option depends on how far are you into the conversion, whether
you like working with the guy etc etc and only you can be the judge of that.

What would I do?
I'd fit R31 rear discs and then you would exceed the braking capacity of
both the donor vehicles. Both of them are a lot heavier than the 1600 and
you would have bigger discs all round than the Japanese Bluebird which has
the better brakes of the two; plus you'd have damn good brakes that you'd be
confident in and later on you'd still have a good upgrade path to ventilated
fronts in the future but in your good time.

regards
Terry

Thanks Terry
So what do i do he was general in his approach but if he thinks that it had
arear end drum than the 1600 should do as it has 240k front end i just don't
want him coming out and wasting my time.
