Geordie,
Mine doesn't have the IRS ass end. I think that they only came out on the Bluebirds in Japan !!
So, am I right in saying that the z18t should bolt straight in my car ???
Are the z18t motors similar to the L Serires engines, ie, Size, dimensions, etc ????
Do these engines bolt up to the L20 Gearbox ??
Sorry about all the questions, but I don't know much about these motors ??
Cheers,
Jeff

Yes it would.

And you have the nice cooshy irs on that model too.. VERY nice. Main thing you will have to look at is the fuel system, but that won't take much to sort out.

Geordie,
Mine is a Series 1 TRX.
So, the z18t should bolt straight up to the existing mounts ???
Thanks,
Jeff

If your bluebird is pre-1985 or in other words it's a series 1 or 2, then you will find the z18 to be the simplest conversion. You won't have any dramas with engine mounts, gearbox mounts should be a piece of cake, probably just gotta look out for the EFI equipment as well, you usually gotta put in a different fuel pump or another pump as well as a surge tank.

What model bluebird do you have?

Hi All,
I'm not sure about what type of car this conversion is for that everyone is talking about, but is a Z18T a straight forward conversion into a Bluebird ????

Z18 was in the Japanese Bluebirds, 910 model I believe. Maybe a few other
cars too, but that's what the bluebirds originally came out with.
So equivalent of 4 disc setup, single spot bluebird or 200b or something
like that. Sorry to be so vague, but no doubt that your engineer would be
none the wiser anyhow. If you upgrade the brakes, then they are better than
before... :)
