Richard,

You have to pull the top part of the carby off. There is a suction chamber which
contains the damping oil. This will be held in place by 3 or 4 screws. Undo those
screws and CAREFULLY lift the suction chamber off. The needle is attached to the
suction chamber. Do one carby at a time and do not swap the suction chambers.

Have a look at the needle and it should be straight and free from damage (ie chips,
dents, etc.). If it looks dodgy, replace it.

Now that the suction chamber is off, look at the top of the carby and you will see the
needle seat at the bottom. Visually inspect to make sute it is clear and undamaged.
Again, if it looks dodgy, replace it.

I also tend to change the oil fairly regularly. The lighter the oil, the sharper the
response. The best oil I have found is synthetic (Mobil 1) but a mid-weight engine
oil is fine and only use new oil.

If you need anymore, help give us a yell. I have just been through the process of
setting up SU's on the rally car. They actually make a nice noise with Ram tubes and
rally socks.

Cheers
