Michael,

As Errol mentioned the spacer just taps off.  Don't forget to insert a Spiggot Bearing 
into the end of the crank.  The keeps the input shaft on the gearbox in a constant 
plane.  They are essentially a small brass cylinder that is porous.  You need to soak 
it in oil before insert and should just slide in with a little tap of a rubber mallet. 
 Be careful as the things are soft and break if hit too hard.  Nissan/Repco/Burson 
carry them as a stock item.  I have the part number at home that I can post later if 
needed.
