Davo,

For the front weber. Check that the pump jets have washers on the bottom of
them and that the rubber o ring on the screw in hat is in serviceable
condition. If the pump jet is not firmly seated then you can get fuel
dripping around them which causes the carb to flood. If you pull the carb
off you can open the butterfly and feel if the pump jet is loose or not.

If this is OK then look at the float levels.

Word of warning. Don't over tighten the idle screws or you will break the
casting around the idles on the insides of the castings after the butterfly.

Cheers
Trev

Subject: Weber Tuning - help!

Heyaz,

Just trying to get the carbs tuned on my 1200 and i have no idea what im
doing. Heres whats happeneing. Anything under 4000rpm it just has no
power
and spits and backfires out the carbys every now and then. Above 4
grand
power comes on fairly strong. It wont idle. And i also noticed after i
had
taken it for a spin that the front weber leaks. Fuel was just dripping
out
of the throats which i dont think is a good sign. Its is driveable at
the
moment but i want it running a bit better for this Sunday for the Datto
cruise. Any tips on what to do just to get it to idle would be great!!
cheers

Scott
