I have found a good site with excellent links to tech pages on setting up
and tuning Weber carbs

Try http://www.geocities.com/Baja/Canyon/1017/weber.html

The page on tuning DCOE's is esp good as it explains all about choke size,
venturi size, jets, emulsion tubes etc. If your carbs are not set up for
your engine size / cams etc, you will never get it to run just by twiddling
screws.

Very important to have good functioning needle valves and set loat levels
correctly for starters.
Overhaul kits for webers are not expensive and worth investing in if your
carbs have been around for a while or have been bought second hand..

An excellent book is " How to build and power tune Weber and Dellorto carbs"
by Des Hammill ( SpeedPro Series ) Veloce Publishing PLC.
I got one in NZ for $79.00 - excellent value.

I needed help to get my Datto 1600 with twin 45 DCOE's when I bought it.
Several previous owners had played around with and stuffed up the carbs
hopelessly. Helped a lot.

Hope this helps.

Richard.
