Nick,
It depends if your head has brass or steel valve seats. With brass seats the
added Sulphur in unleaded combined with the lack of lubrication causes valve
head recession into the seat. If the head has steel seats it is not a
problem. This means tappets need adjusting frequently and eventually the
valves pull right into the seats with performance drop off.

I am running a (modified) S2 B/Bird engine on unleaded, occasionally with
PULP, but NEVER with LRP.
What should I expect, and what causes the problem.
