You get an extra 10 litres (45 up to 55) by fitting a 180B sedan tank. It
almost bolts in. Shave a little off the joining ridge on either side of the
tank to squeeze it between the strut towers. You will see you also need to
put blocks on top of the original 1600 side mounting points to raise these
to the taller hight of the mounting flange. Use the 180B filler neck, it
bolts in and seems to be made of more flexible hose than 1600's. 1600 ones
are always very brittle and prone to cracking when pulled through the body
panel.
Next size up is the 60 litre tank from a 200B sedan. It's basically the
right shape and the filler neck points the right way, but it will be almost
horizontal from the outside filler cap to the tank entry point. The
mounting is a bit harder to fabricate as this tank is originally set up as a
vertical mount.
240K and 78 - 82 Skyline tanks may be worth a look also , I haven't measured
them.
