just on this, I pulled my tank out the other day to clean and paint it etc and had a look inside. There are divisions inside which look like baffles to me. IE steelish plates spaced along the inside with circular holes cut in them. It is not home made or anything, it looks factory??

Is this standard or what???

I'm looking at retro fitting a fuel tank to a 1600

I was thinking a late model fuel tank (with baffles and in tank fuel pump) out of anything, nissan, otherwise, probably nissan, due to familiarity with performance pumps etc.  Anyone know some wreckers of otherwise with 200sx, or 180sx, or any 1990->on cars that they can measure up external dimensions and mounting points of their respective fuel tanks?

I am considering cutting out the spare tire well if necessary to fit (e.g.)  a 180sx fuel tank which sits under the boot and moving the spare inside the boot behind the seat.

I'm not sure how much of an effect it would have on weight distribution moving the tank further back, any comments?

This removes the need for a surge tank and external fuel pumps in my opinion.

help? anyone? get out your measuring tapes.......
