A friend changed his front pads to a set of racing pads (Bendex from memory), and got a large improvement over the standard stopping power of the car. Changing to slotted or cross-drilled discs and changing the brake fluid will help with removing brake fade.

I am trying to decide what to do to the brakes on my 1600 as I feel that I need something a little better than the standard set. I am only thinking about changing the front and leaving the rear drums. Can you tell me if purchasing a set of discs from DBA (longlife gold - slotted and crossdrilled) that are the standard size (232mm) and keeping the standard callipers will be worthwile or should I do something else. Any ideas would be helpful. Cheers Dan. ***********Confidentiality/Limited Liability Statement*************** Have the latest business news and in depth analysis delivered to your desktop.
