Daniel
The flares were on the car before i got it
They are just fibreglass attached to the metal with bog and stuff.
I reckon the back ones come up too high in the middle. Almost 'teardrop"
I can't really describe what was done to fit them cos i didn't do them.
I will get some pics of the inside of the door sill but if u have that
american book about hotting up 1600 u will find the same method there. Can't
remember the name of that book.. has the BRE transam on the cover.. anyone?
Incidentally for a road car the flares are not really required if u stay
legal on your wheel track limits ie 25mm over standard. Wheel track being
measured between the middle of the tyre tread on each side of the same axle
My wheel track is about 80mm outside std mostly from wheel offset and its
causing me some grief with the transport department
The trouble is that with "legal" wheels the flares look pretty stupid cos
theres no wheel there to cover.
To be honest I wouldn't go for such an extreme machine next time (i think)
cheers
Mick
