Brakes again I see, answers to most questions about cheap solid disc
upgrades from U pulls.

200B
Girlock - reverse the struts so you don't have to change the steering arm,
early Girlocks 10/77 - 7/79 with DBA315 disc are better than late Girlocks
DBA326, good quality high performance pads are very exy with Girlock, metal
kings are still available but eat standard discs

Sumitomo - even better are twin spots off imported 200B wagon, Bendix
Ultimate pads are still available which are far superior to Metal Kings.

Use 1600 springs, ride height will be about the same a '69 1600 i.e. 35mm
lower than '72 1600
A few alloy 13" wheels fit, 13" steel wheels wont
Most 2nd hand 200B struts require new inserts
Late model 1600 lower control arms require the end to be ground off to clear
disc (~3mm)
Early 200B will widen the track by 8mm, early 200B will widen track by 3.6mm

240K
Most 2nd hand discs are not in good shape, some doubt whether new 271mm
discs DBA316 are still available, 253mm disc is the same as early 200B

Both 271mm and 253mm widen 1600 track by 8mm
240K struts are 12mm shorter than 200B
Use either 1600 or 240K springs
240K insulators are 10mm thinner than 1600, 180B, 200B but have different
bolt pattern
Very few 13" wheels fit (alloy or steel)

Terry

Yea they bolt straight in... I think you need to use the original 1600
springs or it will be too high, but Terry would know for sure.

Cheers,

Chris
