At the time, Chris from the 1600 Workshop quoted $1000-$1500 for seam welding (may have been to do the whole car though - I cant remember). So instead me and a friend did it, and it turned out a much neater job bc we spent the time to clean up all the welds nicely.
as to whether it was worth it, I dont know but others may have comments from their experiences. There should be some stuff in the archives too, as we had a bit of a discussion on it last year.
