shields
hi, recurving is done in the dizzy, the
module just controlls the spark.
it is actually thermal heatsink compound,
to help transfer the heat from the module to a larger area. they only give you
just enough, u have to squeeze the crap out the sachet , you only
need a thin smear.
btw if any body needs some heatsink compound let
me know i have a big tube, and can send a bit to ya.
i just replaced a buggered ign module on a z-28
camaro, it is exactky the same reluctor type set up as the
electronic bluebird. in fact u can use the camaro module on the bb
s2 dizzy, its a different shape, with 2 terminals at each
end instead of four in a row,.
i got a new one, and did some readings with
a digital meter on the good and bad one, so if anybody needs to
test a dodgy module email me and i`ll email what readings i
got. cant see there being any difference in readings between the
z-28 and bb one.

Subject: B/Bird dissy and heat
shields
I have just put a new ignition module in my
BB s2 dissy.
Bosch of course..
I was hoping that it would take the flicker
out of my tacho and clean up the bottom end a bit.. Nothing doing!!
hehe U can't really clean up the bottom end with a 76 cam and 45
webers i guess. And the tacho (factory SSS) must just be stuffed but still
usuable.
Questions out of interest.
I've heard of recurving the dissy. is this done on the ign module or
what?
They give u a tiny little bag of insulating goo to sit the module on,
i guess to shield it from heat. How much of this stuff should u use?. i
don't think there was enough.
Is having extractors nearby likely to provide too much heat?
Should i build the heat shield for the webers with a special shield
for the dissy?
cheers
