Tobias, For a 4.1 diff you need a 6x21 speedo drive (purple) with a long box that takes the alloy housing or if you are using a doggie box with the steel housing you need a 5x18 speedo drive (blue). The speedo drive housings (i.e. steel or alloy) are not interchangeable so you need the correct drive and the housing. You may have to re-slot the housing to fit the retaining tag depending on what drive is in your extension housing now. As the speedo drive housings are offset to accommodate the larger physical size of the drives with more teeth, the speedo drive housing is rotated to fit. There are 3 or so different extension housings but as these are a pain to replace, it's much easier to simply re-slot the speedo drive. To get the speedo more accurate you can then take the car along to an instrument guru such as the one Mick suggested in his reply.
