I think the small movement gives you more traction. If you make it stiffer then you will break traction easier, due to the torque coming in stronger.

Has anyone rotated and swapped there LH and RH struts so the
calipers are in the front. I have been told this gives a significant
increase in braking!!
I cant see how can anyone tell me? I spose in front the calipers on
the front, they would cause a downforce on the strut as opposed to an
upwards from a caliper on the back.
Also when you dump gears in dattos the diff moves on those rubber
bushes, has anyone tried to stop that movement?? It should allow a more
rigid rear end and possible allow a bit more traction.
