Leighton,

There's not all that much cutting to do but if it's a concern to you fit a
SR or CA. The DR30 engine is the problem with it's bigger manifolds but most
ppl want it due to it's higher output. The Silvia/Gazelle version does fit a
lot better under a 1600 and you don't have to cut/massage the firewall. Jake
left the EGR pipe on his but we lose that or "biff it" in Kiwi speak. The FJ
is a fair bit of work but it's well documented and fairly routine. The
fitting kits are sold with all of the other modifications so everything is
disclosed before you buy. Most ppl I know bought their FJ before the even
contemplated the fitting difficulties.

regards
Terry

after reading about sticking a fj20det intoa 1600 it sounds like ther is a
fair bit of cutting involved? i dont want to do this is ther any way i can
avoid doing so much cutting???

for example - custom manifold so i dont have cut the firewall and why do i
alway readabout the various fitting kits being the best way to go but then
people having to modify them to make the fitting kits to fit???? why the
hell is that?/ shouldnt a fitting kit fit????

thanx
