Damn that is just too much power being given to the cops. Only the courts
should have the power to confiscate your car.
Didn't they only just introduce car confiscation in Qld last week or so?
Sounds like some officer just wanted to try out his new toy!

Update, a friend and I searched the queensland legislation website and no
bill has passed allowing a cop to confiscate your car. we have come to the
conclusion that it is all BS so far but not to say they won't introduce it
in the future. Perhaps go down to your local police station and anonymously
ask what the deal is as we can't be 100% sure they are not allowed to
confiscate your car.
