Gday Traffic cops are fucking idiots. It is random luck whether your good driving record will help you. I got a ticket for a very minor offence and it was and still is my only offence and i asked for leniency(not pay the fine) and they said no. The letter i got back from the cop said that he was 'satisfied the ticket was issued correctly'. Even though i wasnt disputing the issuing of the ticket. He didnt give a stuff. You are down on your luck mate. Where does the car get taken? Is it outside or is it garaged? Do what bob said and if he didnt abide by the procedure to the precise detail then use that in your defence. Next time check the mirrors before you accelerate hard.
