I don't see any real problem with that, I've found that on the street P3 can be a bit cranky and tends to use more fuel than is necessary. If it performs well then don't touch it, I know how it is though when you're a youngster (I was one once) and you've got to screw a few things up to learn but that's life. Have a play with the various combinations and see what hauls and what don't.

Isn't the P2 dowel hole the stock position on an L4 engine?
I  thought P1 was the L6 stock position.

Tough call. Definitely not the A.
I'd use the B if it's actually a B2 and you're running side draft(s) else with downdraft then C. The specs of the C should be the same as the SSS specs I posted the other night i.e. 254 degrees. On the cam timing positions if the chain, guides and adjuster are in good shape P1 will never be advanced (only retarded or spot on) and the other positions will usually be advanced +4 or +8 degrees from memory.

righto...i have three cams here, the one currently in my bog standard l20b is a U20 'A' cam, its advanced to the 3rd position. also in the garage i have a U20 "B" and a "C" cams....which one will be the best for my l20b???
