Thats right heath but the way I look at it if its pushing the air more efficiently it will make better power. Top end power only made a small gain with mine around 20hp at the wheels but midrange was huge all they did was clean up the ports a bit and pocket porting around the valves. as well as a 3 angle valve job . I know steves Taylor's Z18 had some serious portwork and made a fair amount of power gain over the stock head the he at first run. The 20% gain was with the ca18 head im unsure if the same gains could be made from a Z18 Cheers Andrew
