i did replace a  welsh  plug at the back of the head  on a 1600 once,
getting it out  (if i remember correctly)  should be easy.
then i got the welsh plug in place, and then i think i  smashed a hole in
the fire wall and  put a rod  thru the hole from inside the car, and  belted
the plug in that way.
   friend held it in place while  i tapped it in.
