thanks bud, but I would rather take the head off than cut a hole in the firewall just to replace a stupid plug. I've got a sneaking suspicion that one of the water galleries may be covered between the head and block by the head gasket. The other weird thing is that the thermostat appears to be opening but the radiator (which has inlet and outlet on the same side)gets really hot on the drivers side tank but not on the passengers side. I pulled the hoses off and the baffling between the inlet and outlet of the radiator is still in place and solid (I can feel it with my finger). Oh yeah the radiator is clean its been tested when I had a filler cap soldered onto it!
This one has got me stuffed! Any suggestions?????
