i dont want another turbo car...i want something with a good smooth powerband....i guess i would just be best to swap a l28 into it?? the SR turbo bluey is for weekends :)

One in particular that got the L20A turbo upgrade did it in style, and I've never seen a bigger hole in the side of an L block before. What this bloke then did (he's my local exhaust builder) is put a reconditioned L26 block under a L28 head and bolted all of the L20A turbo bits back onto it. He's modified the induction side a bit, pod and the usual stuff, nice exhaust as you expect but not much else and it's a good performer but not what I'd call a screamer, probably around similar performance to a stockish Z18ET in a 1600. The L20A turbo is a ! bit small for the job me thinks, but it was a low cost upgrade and the new engine has been reliable for over 2 years now.
