Over here its $12000 to get a completely bullet proof ,big capacity "Grunter" engine built by legendary Les Collins, the original proprietor of Datrally Developments.  I have heard he also sells to order back into Japan.   Les built the L series engines that won Victorian and Australian Rally championships for Geoff Portman/Ross Runnells in the late seventies and early eighties.  Faster and more reliable than the factory Ford Escort BDA's.  He still builds to special order, if you have the dollars. ----- Original Message ----- From: maldat To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, 2 September 2002 7:30 AM Subject: Re: How Much? were you get 12 grand???? L18's can be taken out to almost 2 litres with crankshaft mods and a big bore.   If you go even further with the crankshaft mods you can get an L18 block out to 2.15 litres.  This mod requires a profiled plate on top of the block (like a decompression plate) and sleeves in the enlarged bores to allow the pistons to move up into the plate area.
